What is art therapy?
Art therapy blends psychology and creativity. It’s a branch of psychological therapy that uses the creative process to improve a person’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It’s about the process of making art, as well as its personal meaning to the person who made it. Art therapy encourages self expression and enables people to express what they cannot say with words. Art therapy is for everyone, especially for people who are less able to communicate using the spoken or written word. Everyone has the ability to express themselves creatively and to find meaning in the creative process itself.
Our art therapy services
We offer personalised art therapy and group classes, as well as art therapy workshops.
Our art therapy sessions are run by a fully qualified counsellor, and allow participants to express themselves, explore emotion and creativity in a safe, nurturing environment. They also encourage fine motor skills and physical co-ordination.
Our art therapist works with seniors, carers, people living with dementia, and people with disabilities. Art therapy can also be provided as part of a home care package.
